10x the most common pregnancy cravings!

All moms and moms-to-be know the feeling. A sudden urge for a strange food combo or a very specific snack. So it’s totally normal if at 7:00 AM you crave gingerbread cookies with mustard or croissants with cream cheese! We asked our Instagram followers to share their cravings and enjoyed their special combinations. Below, we share the 10 most common pregnancy cravings — and of course, we’re super curious: did you have these cravings too?

Apples from the fridge?
Apples were mentioned a lot among the cravings, and we totally get why. Sweet, juicy, and sometimes tart, apples provide that refreshing taste you often need during pregnancy. Plus, cravings for sour snacks are very common. But not all apples are the same. For many moms, it’s crucial that the apple is from a specific brand and comes straight from the fridge. Sound familiar?

Orange (juice)
Orange juice to the rescue! Nothing beats a sweet orange or freshly squeezed juice — it boosts your mood and your vitamin C levels. According to scientists, this second part might explain this craving. Your body needs extra vitamin C during pregnancy, which may cause the urge for oranges.

All things fried
Some people get nauseous just thinking about a plate of fries during pregnancy, while others could eat it every day. Fried snacks definitely belong on this list! Again, science suggests this craving signals your body’s need for healthy fats, which makes us think about fried goodness all day long…

Milkshakes
Milkshakes are also a frequent craving. Driving to the McDrive in the middle of the night? Some moms were willing to do just that. Strawberry, vanilla, or chocolate — one sip of a delicious shake and suddenly everything seems much better!

Cheese
Our all-time guilty pleasure, cheese, is also on the pregnancy craving list. As if we don’t already crave it enough normally, pregnancy can make it even stronger! Whether it’s in grilled cheese sandwiches, on pizzas, on bread, or just eaten straight from the block.

Ice, ice baby
This craving isn’t exactly food-related, but many moms (to-be) experience the urge to snack on ice cubes during pregnancy. While it can indicate an iron deficiency, it can also just be one of your cravings. At least it’s cheap and you always have it at home!

Sour candy
More sour snacks stealing the show here. Sour belts are another favorite among pregnant women, giving a flavor explosion that makes your jaws clench involuntarily. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, right?

(Water)melon
Another healthy item on the list, as melons were frequently mentioned on our Instagram! Watermelon is especially popular, but other types of melon were also noted. Sweet and super healthy — now that’s a craving we love!

Chocolate
We often crave chocolate even when not pregnant. But during pregnancy, your hormones run wild, causing an even stronger urge for chocolate! Good news though: according to Canadian research, it’s actually not a bad idea to enjoy chocolate occasionally during pregnancy! Cocoa is packed with flavonoids, a type of antioxidant that helps improve blood flow in the placenta. Good to know!

Motherhood without filters: why mums need support, not perfection

Motherhood is often shown as something natural, as if everything just falls into place. But every mother knows reality is very different. It is beautiful, intense, exhausting, loving and sometimes completely overwhelming all at once. That is why what mothers need most is each other. The image of the perfect mother On social media we often see calm mothers, peacefully sleeping babies and perfectly styled homes. But these images never show the full reality. The sleepless nights, the doubts and the moments of feeling completely overwhelmed are rarely visible. This is why many mothers feel alone, even when they are not. Real life is not perfect and that is okay Every mother does things differently. Every baby is different. There is no single right way to do motherhood. There is only what works for your family. Motherhood is not a manual. It is something you learn as you go. Why comparison feels so heavy Comparing yourself to others often feels harmless, but it can be emotionally draining. We tend to think others are doing better, while we only see a small highlight of their lives. What mothers really need Understanding, not judgment. Simple words like “me too” or “you are doing your best” can mean everything. Being kind to yourself There is no perfect way to be a mother. Good enough truly is enough. Together instead of alone Motherhood is not a competition. It is a community. A place where we support each other, share honestly and feel understood. In the end, all mothers want the same thing: to love their child and do their best in their own way.

The soft colors and natural fabrics fit perfectly into any nursery and bring a sense of calm to daily play and learning moments. What makes these toys even more special is that they grow with your baby. From the first weeks when your little one mostly observes and listens, to the stage of grabbing, rolling, and exploring – Jollein offers something appropriate for every phase. Pacifier cloths Pacifier cloths are often a baby’s very first favorite companions. They provide comfort, familiarity, and security and can be taken everywhere: in the crib, on the couch, or on walks in the stroller. Jollein comfort blankets are made from soft materials like teddy fabric and velour, perfect for snuggling and holding close. Many designs also include small tags, buttons, or rattles that stimulate the senses and help develop fine motor skills. How cute is the Little Star Pacifier cloth? Rattles Around three months, babies discover that they can grasp and move objects. A rattle is the perfect toy at this stage: lightweight, easy to hold, and with a gentle sound that sparks curiosity. Recently, wrist and foot rattles have also become available. These little rattles attach to your baby’s arms or legs, so every movement creates a soft sound. This makes everyday motions even more fun and engaging while your baby spends hours exploring touch and sound. They help develop fine motor skills, hearing, and hand-eye coordination in a playful way, keeping your little one active and entertained. Baby Gyms and Activity Cubes A baby gym is an essential for the first months. Your baby lies underneath, looks up, and reaches for the soft hanging toys. This naturally stimulates motor skills and coordination. Jollein offers various baby gym toys that can be attached to the gym – from cute animals to soft rattles. Which one is your favorite? Later in the first year, an activity cube is a wonderful next step: a block full of textures, shapes, and sounds that keeps your baby engaged and learning. The Animal Friends Activity Cube is a perfect example – educational, safe, and fun for the second half of the first year. Baby Mobiles A baby mobile brings calm and fascination to the nursery. The moving figures capture attention and stimulate vision, while the gentle rotation has a soothing effect. Hang it above the crib or playpen for a quiet moment in between activities. Jollein baby mobiles are real eye-catchers in the nursery and look adorable under a mosquito net. Teething Rings Around four to six months, the first teeth often start to appear. This can be uncomfortable for your baby, but a teething ring can help relieve the discomfort. Jollein teething rings are made from safe materials such as soft silicone or natural rubber, allowing your little one to chew and explore safely. They support both teething and the development of hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
